Poster Design Unit Part 2

PART 2

• Students will create a poster for a book of their choice that they will read during the semester
• They will create images of characters in the books and provide detailed descriptions of each character chosen
• They will need to create or choose a slogan for a character or for the book that they will use
• Students will have individual meetings with the teacher to discuss their character and slogan choices for their poster
• Students will create mock-ups of how the poster will be designed
• Students will have a class discussion where they will present a powerpoint of:
• a summary of their book
• characters and descriptions
• their sketches and slogan choice
• Class will provide feedback based on student’s choices and information presented to class
• Students must make the presentation a week in advance and submit to the teacher for feedback
• Students will begin constructing their poster in Adobe Illustrator using their sketches, images, slogan and suggestions from classmates
• Students will present a rough draft to the class and will explain their design choices
• Students will edit poster based on class and teacher feedback
• Students will finalize and print poster to be matted and displayed
